This striking image from 1923 shows the dramatic weather that can be experienced around Glencoe during the winter months. The mountain to the right is experiencing a deluge of rain but it could also appear to be an erupting volcanoe. There are dormant volcanoes in this area but even without active volcanoes this land is subject at times to violent winds and sudden squalls.
